ROXBURY, MA (WHDH) — Police are investigating after a 9-year-old girl was shot in Roxbury early Sunday morning.
Police said the child was on a playground on Annunciation Road.
According to police, some kind of party was taking place in an adjacent parking lot.
Someone started firing shots into the crowd and a bullet hit the young girl while she was playing at the playground.
The child was rushed to a local hospital for surgery and is expected to recover.
Mayor Walsh visited the girl’s family in the hospital.
No arrests have been made.
