Police are investigating after a teen was shot in Worcester Friday.

Around 7:30 p.m., Worcester police responded to a local hospital for a report of a shooting victim who had entered the emergency room.

The victim was a 16-year-old male who was conscious and alert.

He told police he was walking on Vernon Street when a group of men surrounded him. He began to run from the group when he was struck with what he thought was a pellet from a BB gun.

He later realized he’d been shot.

He received a minor injury and now in good condition.

Police are now investigating the crime scene, as the victim had very little information about the suspects.

Anyone with information is urged to contact police.
