BOSTON (WHDH) - State Police were on scene at a fatal car crash in the Sumner Tunnel early Friday morning.

According to police, the crash happened on the ramp in the tunnel to Route 93 north after 3 a.m.

Police said a 2002 Dodge Ram pickup truck lost control around 3:10 a.m.

Preliminary reports indicate the crash is a fatality.

Police said three people were in a car that his a guardrail on the ramp.

One man died and two other men suffered non life-threatening injuries. One surviving victim was transported to Tufts Medical Center and the other to Mass General Hospital.

The victim has been identified as Dillon Cohen, 24 of Salem, N.H. According to preliminary reports, it is believed he was a passenger in the Dodge Ram pickup truck.

The other two people involved are a 23-year-old man from Salem, N.H. and a 24-year-old man from Brighton.

The tunnel was closed for about an hour as police investigated. It has since reopened.

The cause of the crash is now under investigation.
