BOSTON (WHDH) - ROXBURY, MA (WHDH) — A suspect wanted in connection with an attempted sexual assault in Roxbury has been held without bail.

On Saturday, Oct. 8, officers responded to a call for an attempted sexual assault in the area of Fitzgerald Park on Mission Hill.

When officers arrived, they spoke with a victim, who stated a man approached her from behind, pushed her to the ground and attempted to sexually assault her before running away.

On Thursday, Oct. 13, officers arrested Jose Cepeda-Irizarry, 32 of Roxbury.

Boston Police credited community members who came forward with information with helping in the arrest.

Cepeda-Irizarry was arraigned Friday afternoon on charges of assault with intent to rape and indecent assault and battery.

Bail was set at $20,000, but his open bail was revoked by the judge, meaning he will be held for 60 days.
