WORCESTER, MASS. (WHDH) - Worcester Police are searching for a suspect after a 26-year-old man was found with a stab wound after an apparent neighbor dispute on Sunday.
When police responded to a report of an assault with a dangerous weapon around 11:00 a.m., they found a significant amount of in the front porch area of an Esther Street apartment.
Officials said they immediately called for an ambulance.
A trail of blood lead the officers to a second floor apartment where they found a 26-year-old man on a couch suffering from a stab wound.
Police said the victim was conscious and alert.
Police leaned the stabbing was due to a dispute with a neighbor.
According to police, they were told that the victim was stabbed after a verbal argument turned physical.
The suspect fled the scene.
Police are currently searching for that suspect—they are aware of his identity.
A warrant was placed for his arrest.
The victim was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life threatening injures.
