A Lowell man appeared in court Friday after he was accused of threatening to shoot up an elementary school.
Robert McDaniel was charged with threatening Pawtucketville Memorial Elementary School.
Investigators said he had been drinking all day when he made the threat.
The 36-year-old suspect was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation.
McDaniel allegedly made the threats online Thursday, writing that he would "shoot up" the school.
He claimed to have a rifle, but investigators have not found any weapons in his possession.
Students are on April break, but some children and teachers were in the building attending a college training program.
Police are still trying to figure out if the suspect has any ties to the school.
