A Lowell woman is hoping the thief who stole her car last weekend will have a heart and return what was inside of the silver Honda Civic.
Norma Von Fricken said she was dropping off greens at Elliot Church when she left her car running to keep her dog, Luke, warm.
After no more than ten minutes she went back outside and found her can and dog were nowhere to be found.
“He has brought me a lot of comfort in some hard times. That’s what dogs are known for and he did his job,” she said.
Von Fricken and others at the church said the thief can keep the car if they are willing to return her dog.
“The car we don’t care about. Could you not have just left the dog? The dog would have sat here and waited for her,” Laurie Montgomery-College, a secretary at the church, said.
Police are doing everything they can to help, but right now they don’t have any information to go on.
“We have nothing right now, we’re hoping that someone will come forward and tell us how to get the dog back. I’m sure the owner would be very happy with them,” Kelly Richardson, public information officer for the Lowell Police Department, said.
Luke is a 6-year-old rat terrier and Von Fricken’s Honda Civic is silver and covered with stickers.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the Lowell Animal Control Officer Darlene Wood at 978-674-4277.
