MANCHESTER, N.H. (WHDH) — Two Massachusetts men are accused of trying to rob a New Hampshire store Sunday morning. Police said in the backseat of a car there was a six year old.

Police arrested Brian Cunneen and John Hickey of Lowell, Mass.

Cunneen, accused of armed robbery, was arraigned Monday morning. Police said he has a felony record and they found a large knife on him. He was held on $50,000 bail.

Police paperwork said he showed the cashier a gun when he barged into the store. The cashier told police the gun looked like a toy and she wouldn’t give him any money, so he ran out.

Police arrested the suspects after the car, driven by Hickey, stopped at a toll booth in Bedford, N.H. Inside the car they found a woman and a six-year-old child in the backseat.

Witnesses said the car hit 100 miles-per hour trying to get away.

Hickey is expected to be arraigned Monday afternoon.

The woman in the car is not facing any charges.
