Macy’s has announced that it will be closing dozens of stores across the country, including two in western Massachusetts.
The Macy’s stores that will be closing in Massachusetts are the location at the Eastfield Mall in Springfield and the Berkshire Mall in Lanesborough.
Thirty-eight other Macy’s stores will be closed in the United States. Around 4,300 employees will be laid off.
Macy’s blamed the closures and layoffs on poor holiday sales and what it called a "disappointing" 2015.
