A restaurant owner in Maine has said guns are not welcome in her restaurant.

The owner of the Foreside Tavern in Falmouth, Maine, just 10 minutes north of Portland, posted about the ban on the restaurant’s Facebook page.

It shows a picture of an assault rifle and referenced recent shootings that went viral.

“We believe that we as a society and our elected officials have to take another look at where, which guns belong in the hands of the military for use on the battlefield and which guns are okay,” said William Harwood of the Maine Gun Safety Coalition.

The restaurant owner says she doesn’t think guns should be taken away from responsible gun owners, but she doesn’t want them to have guns designed for the military.
