Bright skies kick off this weekend as more sunshine than clouds is the overall theme.  Despite a relatively quiet weekend weather-wise, there are a few twists and turns to the forecast for this afternoon.

The 1st twist to the forecast is tracking a vigorous disturbance from Canada into Central and Northern New England, where a few showers and thunderstorms fire this afternoon.  It appears that we’re on the tail end of this system and will avoid much of the rain, however, a passing brief shower is possible late this afternoon across Northern Mass and Southerly New Hampshire.  The 2nd twist or turn… wind direction.   It appears that sea breezes will kick in along the coast today, holding temps from the shorelines of Boston, through the North Shore and Seacoast of New Hampshire in the 50s for much of the day.  The farther inland you go, the milder it’ll be.  Expect highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s along and west of I-95.  With that said, winds may briefly turn back to the northwest around dinner time near the coast, so it’s conceivable that while you’re at Fenway Park temps actually go from the 50s before and around the start of the game, into the 60s by the middle innings.

Regardless, all of us are cooler for Sunday as highs hold in the lower 50s at the coast to near 60 inland.  At least we’ll have tons of sun!

Marathon Monday features wet weather back into the forecast.  We’ll start off dry, but by late morning, sprinkles and light rain starts and steadier rain works in for the afternoon.  Plan on mid morning temps near 50, falling into the mid to upper 40s during the afternoon.  Rain wraps us early Tuesday after many towns pick up at least 1″ of rain.

While next week won’t be great, I don’t see any complete washouts from Tuesday – Weekend.  However, temps stay on the coolish side, in the 50s, and occasionally, we’ll catch a few passing afternoon showers.

Enjoy the weekend!
