WINDSOR, CT (WHDH) — A dream come true for a little baseball fan who is battling a serious illness.
He asked the Make-A-Wish Foundation for his very own ballpark so a group of volunteers stepped into help.
Hundred of volunteers worked together for over a month to completely transform his backyard into Fenway Park.
“At first when I wished for a baseball field,” Make-A-Wish recipient Thomas Hastings, “I didn’t expect to get a mini Fenway park.”
When the volunteers were done Thomas threw out the first pitch.
He was surrounded by family, friends, and his teammates from the University of Hartford baseball team.
