MALDEN, MASS. (WHDH) - A Malden man has been arraigned on charges that he stole expensive cable from the set of the movie, “Patriots Day.”

According to Malden Police, a security guard on the set of the film radioed to available units that an individual had just stolen the cable from the set of the CBS Films movie, and that the individual’s vehicle was still present.

Upon the arrival of Malden’s police captain, Glenn Cronin, the security guard told the suspect fled the scene after being confronted.

The vehicle was described as a powder blue, older model car. A license plate was provided, though it was later determined the plate was stolen weeks earlier.

Police located the vehicle in the driveway of a home, and a subsequent investigation led to the arrest of David Lyndell, 45, of Malden.

Lyndell was charged with taking another person’s license plate, operating a vehicle with a suspended license, and larceny over $250.

Officials are still attempting to locate the stolen cable, valued at several thousands of dollars.

“Patriots Day” is a CBS Films movie starring Mark Wahlberg that has filmed in several locations throughout the region.
