CHARLTON, MASS. (WHDH) - A man charged in a tragic crash that killed a state trooper is looking for several charges to be dropped.

A hearing will be held Monday on a motion filed by David Njuguna’s attorney. Njuguna is charged with driving under the influence of marijuana, manslaughter and other related offenses.

Prosecutors said Njuguna was driving under the influence of marijuana and speeding when he crashed into State Trooper Thomas Clardy’s cruiser on the shoulder of the Mass Pike in Charlton back in March.
