A deadly drive on the south shore lands a man in court.
John Vandeusen, 28, entered the courtroom in handcuffs Tuesday and got emotional as lawyers detailed what happened early Saturday morning in Wareham.
The prosecutor says Vandeusen was drinking at a nearby bar before he got behind the wheel and hit a man in a wheelchair.
The crash sent his pick-up into the woods nearby.
The prosecutor says 24-year-old Josh Macro was in that wheelchair being pushed by his friend in the road’s marked bike lane.
Macro was taken to the hospital, where he later died. The other man was able to jump out of the way.
