LYNN, MASS. (WHDH) - A man was arrested after crashing into a telephone pole in Lynn.
The person behind the wheel faces drunk driving charges.
Police said the suspect tried to run from the scene after the crash.
A neighbor captured the crash on home surveillance video.
The driver, 44-year-old Robert Daddario, was captured clipping the curb and barreling through a chain link, taking down a telephone pole.
The front end of the Toyota minivan was smashed in and the windshield shattered.
Police said Daddario was drunk.
According to police, he took off running from the minivan after taking out the telephone.
Police chased Daddario down and arrested him at the scene.
This incident was the third time Daddario has been charged with drunk driving.
The crash left many people in the neighborhood without power for hours on Friday night.
Some residents are still without cable and internet.
