BOSTON (WHDH) - A man has been arrested in connection with a stabbing in Boston that triggered an emergency alert at Northeastern University Wednesday morning, Boston police said.

Boston police said they found Stephen Dantzler, 58, of Boston in the area of Huntington Avenue using surveillance video.

Police said two men got into a fight at approximately 8:15 a.m. at Symphony Market on Huntington Avenue, and one pulled out a knife and stabbed the victim. The person with the knife then took off in an unknown direction.

The injured victim entered a Northeastern University building where they received aid, according to a Northeastern official. Campus police responded and helped the victim until an ambulance arrived.

Northeastern students received an alert, warning them to steer clear of the building on 291 Botolph Street as officers searched for the attacker. Students attend classes in the basement of that building on campus.

Students said they are concerned because they heard of another stabbing incident in the area less than a week ago.

“There can be an instance, where there is a one off stabbing. That’s something in a big urban area – but having two in the same five days is kinda crazy. And the fact that classes haven’t been canceled and there’s no, like – you don’t see a ton of police walking around at all time has to be a little bit concerning,” Higgins said.

Dantzler is charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. He is expected to be arraigned in Boston Municipal Court.
