A little boy is recovering after being discovered in the trunk of a car in Georgia Tuesday morning.

Charlie Woods, 54, was taken into custody Tuesday after his ex-girlfriend’s son was found in the trunk of his car.

Investigators said the 9-year-old boy was left at home with his siblings before he disappeared.

They said a woman saw the boy in the trunk at a DMV.

“The caller advised that as she was proceeding through the parking lot, she noticed that a truck of a vehicle was open, and there was a child in there,” Sergeant Ashanti Marbury of the Clayton County Police Department said.

Police said the woman helped the boy out and waited for police to arrive.

Fortunately police caught up to him before he could leave the parking lot.

The boy was later checked out at a nearby hospital and has since been reunited with his family.

Investigators said woods was not supposed to be with the woman’s children or near her home. They are still trying to figure how the boy ended up in the trunk of his car.
