An emotionally-charged scene occurred in an Ohio courtroom Thursday, after a man dove across a table and attacked his daughter’s killer.

The heartbroken father lunged at Michael Madison, the man now sentenced to death for murdering Shirelda Terry.

Madison folded Terry in half, and dumped her in a garbage bag.

Before the attack happened, the 18-year-old’s father Van Terry opened up. But Madison’s mocking was too much to bear.

The families of 38-year-old Angela Deskins and 28-year-old Shetisha Sheeley, women also kidnapped and murdered by Madison, waited years for this moment to end.

For Terry’s father, it’s too early for forgiveness.

The prosecutor’s office said the death penalty is reserved for the most heinous of cases, and this incident indicates the death penalty is alive and well in Cuyahoga County.

The victims’ families will hold a healing and victory celebration July 23.
