A man was killed after a motorcycle crashed in Lowell Sunday, according to state police.
Police said officers responded to a report of a crash on the Lowell Connector outbound near the exit for Industrial Avenue around 11:30 a.m.
Preliminary investigation showed the victim, a 21-year-old Brockton man, was traveling outbound when he lost control of the motorcycle. He then crashed and struck the guardrail adjacent to the roadway.
The victim sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, but police believe speed was a factor.
A second motorcyclist was traveling with the victim, and remained at the scene.
The identity of the victim has not been released.
