Man dies after apparent brick attack in Lynn; 2 suspects sought

LYNN, MASS. (WHDH) - Police are investigating after a man apparently attacked with a brick in Lynn died Monday morning.

The attack happened in a parking lot on Black Street at around 1:30 a.m. Sunday. Police said 39-year-old Sergio Sanchez, of Reading, was walking with a 33-year-old Lynn man when they were attacked by two other men.

A witness said she looked out her window and saw Sanchez on the ground, saying he looked like he was in “very bad shape.”

Police do not believe the suspects and victims knew each other.

Sanchez died of his injuries Monday morning. The other man is expected to be OK.

Police have arrested Werner Garcia Figueroa and Selvin F. Garcia, both of Lynn, in connection with the assault.

They will be arraigned in Lynn District Court for Murder, Armed Robbery and Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon.
