A man is fighting to keep his best friend from being taken away again.
David Van Buren and Gwendalin the alligator have been together for 47 years.
Gwendalin stays in David’s backyard, where she eats her favorite snacks, pizza and chocolate chip cookies.
According to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Commission, the 13-foot enclosure that David has Gwendalin in is not big enough for her.
The Commission wants David to keep the alligator because they have been together for so long, even through college.
In the 90’s the FWC took Gwendalin away from David in a case that made national news.
A judge ultimately reunited the two.
