SACRAMENTO (WHDH) – A man is in custody after police said he barricaded himself inside a house and threw explosives at officers in California.
The suspect allegedly ran into a house in Sacramento after threatening officers. Police said the house belongs to the suspect’s friends and they were inside with him when he ran from police.
Dozens of SWAT officers and federal agents waited outside the house for about two hours to try and get the suspect to surrender. A hostage negotiation team was also brought in, though police said this was not a hostage situation.
“This is not a hostage situation,” said Traci Trapani of the Sacramento Police Department. “It sounds like all subjects were able to leave on their own free will.”
The suspect surrendered after about two hours. Police said no one was injured during the standoff.
