WALTHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - A man is in custody after two women were stabbed at a Waltham home Wednesday afternoon.
At around 12:56 p.m., police responded to the stabbing inside a home on Weston Street. When officers arrived, they said they found two victims, a 52-year-old woman suffering from multiple stab wounds and an 83-year-old woman with a cut on her hand.
Both were transported to area hospitals. The 52-year-old woman remains in critical condition.
Police said the suspect, 37-year-old Emanual Louis of Waltham, originally ran away from the scene, but was later apprehended.
Louis was charged with armed assault with intent to murder, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon causing serious bodily injury and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a victim over 60.
According to police, the victims and suspect are known to each other and the attack is not random.
An investigation is ongoing.
