PETERBOROUGH, N.H. (WHDH) - A man was killed after a confrontation with police in Peterborough, New Hampshire on Tuesday morning.

The incident happened right off Route 136,  according to officials.

Police say an adult male who was being pursued drove off and slammed his BMW into a tree.

Investigators say officers then shot and killed him when he got out his car and confronted them.

No police officers were injured.

The man was identified as 19-year-old Lane Lesko of Michigan.

The incident is still being investigated, as are the circumstances that led to the shooting.

An autopsy revealed Lesko’s cause of death was a single gunshot wound.

Officials from the New Hampshire Attorney General’s Office, as well as New Hampshire State Police and Peterborough Police, are currently investigating.
