Officials have begun investigating a shooting in Dorchester that occurred early Saturday morning.
Police responded to a call for a person shot near the intersection of Dudley Street and Dudley Terrance.
When police arrived they found a male and a woman suffering from apparent gunshot wounds.
According to police, the man died on the scene and the woman was taken to a local area hospital with life threatening injuries.
Commissioner William Evans said he believes it was a targeted shooting, with multiple gunshots fired at an up close range.
