EVERETT, MASS. (WHDH) - A pedestrian was struck in the street in Everett just after 2 p.m. on Sunday.

Police said it appeared an MBTA bus driver was pulling away from a stop along Route 110 when he hit a 58-year-old man who was chasing after the bus, but the incident is still under investigation.

The victim fell onto the road on Elm Street and Jefferson Avenue, landing partially underneath the bus as he was trying to catch the driver’s attention.

Witnesses said the man banged on doors near the back of bus before slipping and falling onto the ground.

He was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
