HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — A Connecticut man convicted of federal drug charges who failed to show up at prison on the designated date is now facing an additional 10 years behind bars.

The U.S. attorney for Connecticut says 44-year-old Brian Page, of Guilford, pleaded guilty Tuesday to failure to surrender for service of a federal sentence.

Prosecutors say Page was convicted last year for his role in a drug ring that obtained oxycodone through fraudulent prescriptions, and sentenced to more than eight years in prison. He was released on $200,000 bond and told to turn himself in on Nov. 17, 2017.

He never showed, and federal marshals arrested him at a Branford hotel on Dec. 7.

Page faces up to 10 years additional time at sentencing scheduled for Feb. 5.
