LOS ANGELES (WHDH) - Kasey Affleck was nominated as best actor for his role in “Manchester by the Sea” at the 74th Golden Globe Award nominations Monday morning.

The announcement comes one day after Affleck received best actor at the Critics’ Choice Awards. The film, based right in Manchester by the Sea in Massachusetts, was nominated for an Oscar as well.

The movie is based on Kenneth Lonergan’s New England family drama set in the town for which the film is titled.

“Manchester by the Sea” won two other Critics’ Choice Awards on Sunday, including best original screenplay and best young actor.
