A 47-year-old Manchester man has been charged with allegedly firing a gun at several tow trucks.

James Zsofka is charged with reckless conduct, criminal threatening (felony) and criminal threatening (misdemeanor), according to police. He was scheduled to appear in court on Friday.

At around 6:15 a.m. on Friday, a tow operator at his yard on South Beech Street was awoken by the sound of gunfire, police said. The operator told police the gunfire caused more than $900 in damage of truck windows.

The operator told police he saw a man riding a bicycle after the shooting. Police say they found the bike in the area of Wilson and Silver Streets along with Zsokfa.

Police say the suspect had a BB gun on him and was immediately arrested.

The tow operator told police the man had threatened to "shoot up the place" on Thursday night.
