MANCHESTER, N.H. (WHDH) - A Manchester, New Hampshire man was arrested after Manchester Police said he shot himself and lied about the incident.

On July 24, Tyson Morgan, 35, of Manchester, called police to say he was shot by an unknown male in a parking lot. He allegedly told them he got into a fight with another man who pulled out a gun and shot him during the incident.

During the investigation, police determined that Morgan allegedly lied several times to police, and that the gunshot wound was self-inflicted. Police arrested Morgan and charged him with a False Report to Law Enforcement and Falsifying Physical Evidence.

A spokesperson from the police department said that it “always diligently investigate(s) all gun violence reports,” she said. “This investigation tied up a large number of police resources and valuable time, only to be unfounded.”
