BROCKTON, MASS. (WHDH) - Crews are on the scene after three manholes exploded on Main Street in Brockton.

The Brockton Fire Department said between 10 and 15 explosions happened underground, causing the three manhole covers to explode. One of the covers exploded underneath a car, which then caught fire.

National Grid said its secondary powerlines underground caught fire. Dozens of people were evacuated and power has been shut off between Center and Crescent streets

No injuries or property damage have been reported. Brockton Mayor Bill Carpenter said the power could be off for as long as 24 hours before everything is repaired.
