I’m always a huge fan of having several options…whether it’s on a dinner menu, several shirt/tie combos or things to do on a weekend. We find ourselves in a weather pattern that offers multiple season activities. The ski areas have been able to muscle their way through this mild December with enough snow to ski on (Boston’s rain this month has been mainly snow for the ski areas) and yet the mild rainy pattern has allowed a number of golf courses to remain open. We’ve also been able to keep hiking trails open and of course our streets have been free of ice/snow allowing us to sneak a few more runs in without fear of slipping. A decent winter weekend is shaping up with mild temps expected both days and brilliant sunshine today. Tomorrow there will be more clouds around and even a few isolated showers possible during the morning hours. The afternoon should be dry–including Gillette for the Pats-Bills game.

Looking into next week it appears a return to a cold pattern is happening (November pattern). Monday will be a shock to the system as high temps stay in the mid 30s with even colder weather for the remainder of the week—likely not reaching 32 for afternoon highs Tuesday-Friday. In terms of storms, the main storm track will be south of New England but one storm may clip southern new England on Tuesday. As of now it looks like just clouds but a period of some light snow is possible south of the MA Pike Tuesday afternoon. Cold & dry for New Years Eve and day.

Enjoy your Holiday Weekend!
