A Massachusetts man was injured on Tuesday during a crash in New Hampshire, which later resulted in another man being arrested.
At around 10:38 a.m., a Ford Streestyle was driving south on Interstate 93 in Manchester when it spun out and struck a sound barrier, according to New Hampshire State Police.
A fire erupted in the car, which was driven by a 28-year-old woman from Derry, New Hampshire, police said.
The 40-year-old Haverhill, Mass. man, who was a passenger, was partly ejected from the car, police said. He suffered serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
Police say he was not wearing a seat belt.
The driver was wearing a seat belt and suffered minor injuries, according to police.
Both victims were taken to Elliot Hospital for their injuries, police said.
As troopers were responding to the crash, police spotted a man taking cell phone photos of the burned car, police said.
Troopers stopped the man’s car and issued 26-year-old Allen Buco, of Manchester, New Hampshire, a citation for use of a mobile device while driving. Police arrested Buco on an outstanding warrant.
