SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. (AP) — A Massachusetts woman has died after being hit by a car while riding her bicycle in Rhode Island.
Police say 22-year-old Mary Wilk, of Cheshire, was hit from behind by a vehicle driven by an 88-year-old South Kingston resident while riding her bike in the breakdown lane of Route 1. Police say it happened Tuesday.
Wilk was taken to Rhode Island Hospital with serious injuries. She died on Saturday.
Police say drugs and alcohol don’t appear to have been factors in the crash. No charges have been filed.
