BOSTON (WHDH) - Commonwealth Secretary William Galvin has announced that Massachusetts has officially certified the results of the Nov. 8 election.

Officials say a record number of voters cast ballots in the general election.

The certification includes votes for senators and representatives, sheriffs, and county and regional officers.

Additionally, the results of the four ballot initiatives were certified.

Secretary Galvin announced that the text of the new marijuana law can be found on the department’s website. The law takes effect on Dec. 15.

Votes for Presidential Electors and members of Congress had previously been certified.

Officials say the turnout broke the record for voters by more than 194,000. In total, 3,378,801 votes were cast.
