WESTON (WHDH) — Crews across New England are taking no chances as they prepare for the biggest snowstorm the region has seen in awhile.

Many told 7News they planned on staying in Tuesday, especially because Gov. Charlie Baker is warning people to stay off the road unless absolutely necessary. The Commuter Rail will also be operating on a modified schedule.

Down on Cape Cod, people placed sandbags along the coastline to prevent erosion in case of a storm surge. The south coast is bracing for high winds and heavy snow and state officials warned many residents could lose power.
