SOUTH BOSTON (WHDH) — A South Boston brownstone was severely damaged by a fire around 10:30 Monday night.
Firefighters said the brownstone on East Fourth Street was undergoing renovations. Firefighters got to the roof to knock the flames down and keep them from spreading to other neighboring homes.
People in neighboring apartments evacuated.
Five people were displaced by the flames.
Crews were on scene Tuesday cleaning.
No one was injured in the fire. The damage is estimated to be around $1 million.
