With the snowiest 10-day period of Boston’s history just 48 hours in the past, Boston was under the microscope when the Patriots hit town for a parade Wednesday morning.
Snow was piled all along the parade route, but that didn’t stop fans from having a great time.
“We’re tough in Boston and yeah, the snow is a pain and it sets us back, but it’s not going to stop us as a city,” Boston Mayor Marty Walsh said.
While crews cleared the city of snow, fans wondered if the parade would even happen, especially after gridlock dominated the city Tuesday night.
“One thing I can say safely today is that the parade did not affect traffic, traffic was affected by the snow we’ve had,” Walsh said.
The mayor said that while crews were able to clear City Hall Plaza to give enough room for fans watching the parade, there just wasn’t space or time for speeches.
Walsh said that if the Patriots win again next year, as he believes they will, he will make sure there are speeches.
