Mayor Marty Walsh says he’s planning to spare Boston city high schools from budget cuts.

This comes just days after thousands of students walked out of Boston schools in protest.

The cuts would have endangered popular programs and teacher’s jobs.

Officials now say the savings will come from delaying some new programs as well as cutting some district-wide budget items.
