STONEHAM, MASS. (WHDH) - An MBTA bus driver received a summons from police for allegedly leaving the scene of a crash in Melrose.

Police said the driver was operating Route 132 on West Wyoming and Whittier Street in Melrose when he struck a parked car. The driver allegedly continued on the route and concerned passengers on board called 911.

State Police located the bus on Hancock and Main Street in Stoneham. Twelve passengers were on board but no one was hurt.

The MBTA driver received a summons for leaving the scene of a crash with property damage. The MBTA is investigating the possibility that he was under the influence of prescription medication.

The MBTA said the driver will not transport passengers or operate a vehicle until the investigation is complete.
