The MBTA is working to fix a leak into the newly renovated Government Center MBTA station.
Water was found leaking onto a Blue Line platform Wednesday morning.
"An area that had been excavated above ground is believed to be the source of a small leak onto a section of the Blue Line platform underground," according to MBTA General Manager Frank DePaola.
A contracting crew believes snow accumulated in a ditch above the station melted and ran down an unused public tunnel, seeping into the new station. The station, which the MBTA spent $88 million to renovate, opened two weeks ago.
The MBTA said sealant material will be installed as the project engineer continues to monitor the situation.
