The MBTA is taking measures to prevent unfair practices on the Commuter Rail.
Teams set up check points on Commuter Rail platforms at South Station on Thursday.
They checked passengers’ tickets to make sure everyone paid, as part of the "Fare is Fair" program.
To speed things up, they made an "express lane" for people with monthly passes and mobile tickets.
It’s an ongoing effort to limit fare evasion, which the MBTA said costs the system more than $35 million each year.
The Commuter Rail said it will continue to randomly check tickets during the evening rush hour.
