BOSTON (WHDH) — Meet the newest member of the Ocearch family, Katherine.
Katherine is an immature female great white shark. She was caught and tagged Tuesday in Cape Cod.
She was a little over 14-feet-long and 2,300 pounds.
Fans named her after Katherine Lee Bates the Falmouth native who wrote the song ‘America the Beautiful’.
Ocearch is a non-profit group tagging sharks off Cape Cod this summer.
