BOSTON (WHDH) - Lottery players now have a chance to win Mega Million’s third-largest jackpot after officials raised the game’s grand prize to $660 million Thursday night.
Those in the Boston area hoping to hear their numbers called had visions of Great Gatsby-esque luxuries at the forefront of their minds Friday.
“A house, a mansion, some Lambos,” said Helton Pina, chuckling. “Ferraris. All that stuff.”
Friday’s drawing will be the game’s 28th since a winner was last selected in April.
“I would probably buy a house somewhere nice down in Florida maybe,” said Matt Lakus.
The game’s highlighted pre-tax $660 million is for those that take that an annuity option. According to the lottery, most players select the cash option, which would pay out a sum of roughly $375 million.
Players can enter their selections up until 15 minutes before the 11:00 p.m. drawing.
The odds of winning the grand prize remain at a 1 in 302.5 million chance.
