"Live" co-host Michael Strahan will exit the show in May, not September, as originally announced.

News that Strahan would leave on May 13 came from a "Live" spokesperson on Tuesday just hours after Ripa returned to the syndicated talk show after taking time off to "gather (her) thoughts" in response to learning last week that Strahan would be leaving for full-time duties on "Good Morning America."

Ripa, having been blindsided by Strahan’s planned departure, told viewers that the incident had started a conversation about workplace respect.

She said her bosses had apologized to her for the slight.

Strahan will be seen with increasing frequency on "GMA" this summer in preparation for his start as a full-timer in September.
