MILTON, MA (WHDH) — Milton Police said the driver who slammed into the Milton office building on Saturday said he hit an object in the road, which caused him to crash.

The crash happened at 1:21 a.m. on Saturday, when the 42-year-old driver and Winthrop resident was traveling North on I-93, near Exit-9 in Milton.

He said he then hit an object on the highway, and the impact of that collision caused him to lose control and drive off I-93 and onto Granite Avenue where he slammed into the side of the building.

The driver was the only person in the vehicle at the time of the crash and was transported to Boston Medical Center.

The town building inspector and a representative from the property management company also responded to the scene.

This is an ongoing investigation.
