After a morning that saw the first frost for some neighborhoods in the suburbs, the recovery was remarkable and decisive. Highs bounced all the way to the mid and upper 60s under full sun.
We’re entering a two day warmup starting tomorrow, but with clouds and some showers in the forecast, these days will seem deceiving. Each morning we’ll have cloudy skies and somewhat cool temperatures, but with stiff south/southwest winds, the afternoons will surprise. Best chance of rain is Wednesday morning with some indications we’ll see the chance for a few downpours through mid morning as a vigorous cool front zips by.
And cool it will be by Thursday and Friday. Highs fall back to reality…or even below…as a batch of cool air settles in. Early look at the holiday weekend: not bad at all. Some moderation in temperatures, and a good supply of sun – outside of Saturday.
Big weather – or should I say celestial – headline of the week is a TOTAL lunar eclipse on Wednesday morning. Wait, that looks wrong. How can we see the moon in the morning? Well, it will be setting in the western sky at that point, just as the sun begins to rise. Here are the details. I would go over it here in depth, but the space.com site is more thorough….and, admittedly, I’m a little apathetic. We have a very poor chance of seeing it because of clouds and showers.
All is not lost, however, we are about half way through a tetrad of total lunar eclipses. Next one up is right around the corner: April 4th, 2015.
