A missing boy has been found safe in New Bedford.
According to police, the 5-year-old boy was dropped off at Hathaway Elementary School on Court Street Friday morning.
The school was closed due to Good Friday.
According to police, a witness reported seeing the child visibly upset at the entrance to the school.
The boy then took off running. According to police, the boy ran home.
He was found shortly before noon at his home, safe and with his family.
The family is new to the area and were unaware the school was closed.
