PLYMOUTH, MASS. (WHDH) - The search for a missing swimmer in Plymouth took a tragic turn on Tuesday.

Around 2 a.m., police received a 911 call from someone who said he and another man had been swimming at Plymouth Beach on Warren Avenue and he was unable to find his friend.

Emergency crews responded and found the victim, Michael Gallivan, 26 of Buzzards Bay at 3:20 a.m. in eight feet of water.

Gallivan was found unresponsive and not breathing.

He was transported to Jordan Hospital where he was pronounced dead.

No foul play is suspected in his death.
